The Superbowl is coming up and, whether you like football or not, it’s a very big deal to the ones we want to reach with the gospel. One of the most basic principles of biblical mission is a willingness to adopt someone else’s culture to reach them for Christ.
Paul explains this in 1 Corinthians 9 when he says,
22 …I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some. 23 I do it all for the sake of the gospel, that I may share with them in its blessings.
As Christians, we don’t use people to win stuff. We use stuff to win people. It’s what Paul did to reach his people. It’s also what Jesus did to save us (see Heb 2:14-15).

So, back to the Superbowl. How will you use it? Since most people will watch SOME of the game, why not use it as an opportunity to meet your neighbors?

So, here are 6 simple ways to be missional this Superbowl:
1. Throw an awesome party with your missional community and invite neighbors or co-workers.
2. Potluck the best food.
3. Provide great drinks and desserts.
4. Get to know people.
5. Make it great!
6. Or, better yet, go to a neighbor’s party and invite them over for dinner some time.
Remember, the first step to seeing a door open to share the gospel might just be hospitality and being nice.
