Matt Carter shares the fourth of four reasons why we should be passionate about the nations.
He says, “Here’s the first one, Jesus was passionate about the nations and so I’m going to be passionate about the nations. That’s just really simple. Jesus was passionate about the nations. And so I just believe that me as a pastor, therefore a leader, a shepherd of people, that I should shepherd them to be passionate about what Jesus was passionate about. It’s just that simple…
The last thing Jesus said before He ascended into heaven was ‘go, go and make disciples of all nations’….I think the Gospel ought to so compel us that we are not satisfied just to proclaim it in our Judea and our Samaria. The Gospel ought to so compel us that we want, it is our passion, to take it to the ends of the earth. Jesus was passionate about it. Let’s be passionate about it.”
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
